How long are they? They look a little like Tetramorium to me. Tetramorium queens usually range from 7mm to 9mm. I would just put them in a test tube setup and put them in a dark, warm place for a week or so before disturbing them again to check on them. You can also wrap something like a sticky note...

Don't put adult workers because they may attack queen for safety put coocons Right, never add workers from one colony into another. If they have caked on crud, you might need to get a tube brush. Google "tube brush" for options.

I have since determined that I have Tetramorium, not Monomorium. It was my first experience identifying queens back then a few years ago.
