Sightings in Sweden/Norway/Finland?

What nuptial flights have you currently seen in the nordics? I have not seen any in a while but would love one or two queens before wintertime.

Re: Catching Queens During Nuptial Flight

I found three in my hair during my last walk. They are everywhere here now.

There are lots of brown Lasius in Sweden. I wouldn't be able to tell from these pictures, but if she doesn't have any erect hairs on her antennal scapes, she is most likely Lasius alienus or L. brunneus.
They are 6 different individuals.

Formica truncorum. She will need Formica pupae if you want to keep her.
So what distiguish my queen from Rufa, sanguinea etc? Just trying to learn how to differentiate them.
You might notice that she is really fuzzy.
Thanks!

Re: Lasius queens?

Neoniger doesn't seem to exist in Sweden so niger is surely a better guess.

Lasius queens?

Are these 6 Lasius queens that already layed eggs in their temporary holders? Caught in Sweden. http://theimagehost.net/upload/ee743e2d8b7a6e4b41c46f3f65aeecfc.jpg http://theimagehost.net/upload/aab501cd8661d009f127b9bfcbcf8d8f.jpg http://theimagehost.net/upload/fc80830a96a7f44b4198378338b6ba7e.jpg ...
