last summer after i caught my first queen, i ordered a hybrid nest and a bunch of other equipment. I can't fit the tubes into the holes on the sides and i still don't have enough workers for the nest, and now that the new one has come out, i wanted to return it. How do i do this? Can i still return ...

Re: Joe's Ant Journal

sorry it's been so long, i haven't had much to update on. Most of the ants are hibernating. I'm trying to disturb them as little as possible at this time, but some of the test tubes are moldy. Queen #1 is pulling at the cotton, and I was wondering if this was a problem. If so, what should I do? Than...

Re: Joe's Ant Journal

Sorry I haven't posted for a long time. I have a lot to catch you up on. First a few weeks ago I caught two more queens, (they were C. novaboracensis) both in some rotting logs. Unfortunately, I used glass test tubes from a chemistry set, and my brother accidentally knocked them over. One of them wa...

need to move queen but out of test tubes pls help

So I caught a queen(I think she is C. novaeboracensis) with brood and pupae, but I used my last test tube to catch her and I need to move her to one with water. Please help quick! Also, how long can a queen survive without water.

Re: Joe's Ant Journal

Queen #2, probably a formica queen, has some brood now!!!! I'm so excited and I hope they both have mated. So a few days ago I was in my Aunt and ...
