Re: My first queen : Crematogaster sp. Journal

you should change your parrot's water more often  But on a more serious note be careful what bugs you feed them that are wild caught. They can have pesticides on them.

Re: Caring for Neoponera Villosa

Yes, the one I caught a month ago is a N. Villosa, and the one I caught last week, which has laid 2 eggs now, is also a N. Villosa. She seems content in the test tube, but these ants are so large, no way I could wait until this newly caught queen has 20-30 workers before I move them, they wouldnt f...

Re: Tetramorium Tips

Fairly easy to keep and pretty hardy. I found that mixing baby powder and alcohol as a barrier didn't work. they were able to...

Re: Queen ID Little Falls, NJ 8/19

This ID request is a good bit late, admittedly, but I was out of town and had no access to the photos of the queen until I recently got back. Anyway! She was caught in mid-80 degree weather late afternoon in a small town area, and is about 9-10mm. https://imgur.com/a/ReBEi Apologies for the image q...

Re: Caring for Neoponera Villosa

Also I had a few more questions. Should I just release the one I caught almost a month ago that never laid an egg? She had wings when I found her, but maybe she isn't fertile? Oh...and about the cotton ball soaked with sugar water. I understand they carry droplets in there mandibles...so can she ga...

Re: Camponotus consobrinus/ banded sugar ant food

ok thx ive been checking them way too much... twice a day  . so should i he do all the test tubes with normal water or no? i think your asking if all the tubes should have water, not sugar water? If so, yes. Don't put your queens in a sugar water setup. They dont need food, and the sticky su...
