Re: Outworld substrate/ground ideas

Ooh! Ok so I just saw ants canadas new video with the golden play button. What about using aquarium background as an outworld floor? Like the stuff that Miley used in his Golden play button nest. I think it would work and look awesome! You can probably drill or carve holes in it to glue fake plants,...

Re: Outworld substrate/ground ideas

Hello everyone, After the whole debacle with a colony moving into a natural dirt setup in an outworld, I need new ideas for what to use. I have just the empty outworld since my ants are hibernating right now and was thinking that it would be a great time to fill it with something. I’m thinking like...

Re: I know its "Ants"Canada...but...

Seeing that AntsCanada lives in a pretty amazing place full of a variety of ants (though some are invasive)... What if he kept a termite species and showed them on his Youtube channel? I imagine where he lives there'd be some pretty amazing termite species. Not only are termites easier than ants (i...

Re: Emergency!

If you really think that it is life threatening, you can tap them into the new tube. it is not reccomended, and should always be last resort, but if you just flip the old tube upside down and flick your finger on the side of the old tube , they will fall into the new tube.

Has anyone ever tried using amber or red cellophane to make the nest "dark" yet visible? Heard about this recently. Some say it works. Anyone tried it?
yep, I use it. It is usually called red photography paper. Seems to work .They act like the nest is dark and go crazy when I take it off.

Re: Using large hybrid nest for a founding colony?

Hi there! The mention of the holiday special on the new hybrid nest in today's video is tempting me :-D However, the Camponotus colony I have is brand new - I'd be ordering the nest early because the earliest I can see it having enough workers to need a formicarium is next summer - and I'm not sure...
