Re: Ant Trading

There is no selling, Trading or giving of queen ants on this forum outside of the Gan project. You don't have to sell ants on the gan project. you can give them away or trade.

Re: My Frameicarium Project

Did you get it done? If so, could we see it? Also, one thing I was always afraid of, is the sand collapsing on the ants and burying them. Is that possible? And what about the humidity? How do you regulate that? Yeah it turned out to fail..... Tons of escapes and yeah the whole sand thing was a prob...

Re: Ant barrier not working

I used baby powder and alcohol at first, but my tetramorium could cross it. Also, applying it thick only increases c...

Re: can i feed earthworms to my ants? PLZ HELP!!! Need response soon!

it isn't reccomended. They could be carrying diseases or more likely, pesticides that can kill your colony. :!: Get some crickets or mealworms from the pet store .

Re: Formica workers that grow with colony size?

Colony age, not worker age* Arthropods with adult forms like insects stop growing larger after they hit their adult stage (ants at least have stretchy gasters.) Yes. I meant that my older workers tend to be smaller since they developed during a time of less food. But yeah the ants themselves dont "...

Re: Formica workers that grow with colony size?

I can definetly tell younger workers from older ones in my mature tetramorium colony. The older ones are smaller than the younger ones, only by 1/2 to 1 millimeter, but it is very noticeable to the eye. To me they look like different castes, but they are actually different ages? In tetramorium, yes...
