So I found this queen ant in my yard today and it’s bright reddish orange and I’ve never seen a queen like that in Maine where I live. So I was wondering if you guys might know what species it is.

So I have a tetramorium queen and a worker hibernating (I think) in a test tube currently in my room where it is 68 degrees (F). I have them there because in my basement where they used to be it’s 20 degrees so I’m afraid they might die. So should I move them back into the basement to make them hibe...

I was wondering what you guys think is the best way to keep crickets. Should I freeze them when I get them from the store and just take one out when I need it or should I keep them in a container and feed them until I feed them to my colony.

So I'm just starting my first ant colony and I was wondering how you prepare your food for your colony. Like do you just freeze the bugs to kill them and how do you take of parts of crickets and stuff to feed to your colony in its founding stages.
