I no longer have any colonies. :(

I used to have a fairly large S. invica and a small C. castaneus colony. A while back my S. invicta colony got so big I couldn't contain them even when given more room, they would escape, there were just too many workers. I released them so they are either MIA/dead. Recently: My small C. castaneus c...

Re: Dry Mealworms

I would just like to add that buying live mealworms online is very cheap. Most of the time they arrive alive even with the 2-3 day shipping option. The same goes for superworms. I like to buy my feeders online from either Josh'sFrogs or RainbowMealworms (both are quality online stores for feeders).

Re: The start of 2017

I had the same luck this year and last year. I only kept two this year though. Last year I made the mistake and kept about 100 colonies in 100 different test tubes. It was havoc taking care of them after they had their workers. I thought they were going to sell faster on GAN, but only one got sold, ...

Queen ant game!

I thought this game was pretty cool, if you have a spare $10 this game is great for passing by the time and it's all about ants! :D

Re: Trachymymex sp. Journal

Somehow the three workers escaped but left the queen in there all alone and the workers took all of the fungus with them. The workers essentially killed my queen by escaping. I have no idea what to do with this queen now. This is no longer a colony, it's a queen :(

Re: Trachymymex sp. Journal

I don't know, but if you decide to take fungus, get it from a satellite nest away from where you like to look. That's just it though, the colony is so developed that I don't know what's a satellite nest and what's the actual nest. :/ And when I dug up the first time I do think that it was an actual...

Re: Trachymymex sp. Journal

For some reason the ants have decided to move the fungus garden, and in the process lost more than 75% of the fungus. They have hardly any fungus left and they aren't going out to gather any more food. I have caterpillar frass and dried raspberry leaves in their outworld. The only thing they've adde...
