And I'm not sure if she is mated... she was the only alate spotted in my area in several weeks. I'm thinking she's either too early or too late.

Is the fact that the wings came off a good indicator that she has been mated?

Cool.. I was going by the single petiole node, rounded thorax and the head shape looked like other pics of camponotus queens. But couldn't be sure if other species also looked alike. What other features did you use Phoenix?

Hello from Singapore! My first queen ant!

Gee, I hope I don't embarrass myself. I caught this ant in the western side of Singapore about 6pm on Saturday 18 Feb 2017. She had her wings on but by 7pm or so, her wings had come off.
