Ants leaving moldy garbage in their nest

I think I moved my Tetramorium immigrans into a hybrid nest too early, they’re too small for the nest size, and they’re using one of the inner chambers as a garbage dump. It looks a bit moldy. I glued the glass down with silicone adhesive. I’m not sure what to do, any advice? Thanks https://media.di...

I got a Formica best and outworld for my Crematogaster colony, is it move in ready or do I need to clean/sterilize it? Thanks

Re: Ok to leave lasius colony in small ant tower on display?

Ok I can’t edit the title but I got tetramorium immigrans and lasius confused in my mind.

I’m pretty sure they’re tetramorium immigrans but there’s a chance they could also be cromategaster.

Re: Ok to leave lasius colony in small ant tower on display?

I’m keeping them out of direct sunlight because I’m pretty sure they would get roasted due to the greenhouse effect.

This is the colony I have farthest along and I just really want to make sure that I don’t stress them out too much, although my son has his heart set on displaying them.

Ok to leave lasius colony in small ant tower on display?

I was wondering if they would be stressed by too much light if they were on display all the time, even with red film around the tower.

Camponotus (probably sansabeanus) lost all nanitics, any chance to save?

I have a camponotus queen, probably sansabeanus, and all the nanitics were lost. It was my mistake, I overestimated how much time the water they had would last, and by the time I realized, all the nanitics died. The queen is still alive, several months later. She hasn't laid any more eggs. I was won...

Best you can do is get him off GAN. What was his name? I know some NJ Antkeepers and let them know.

Re: I think my camponotus queen ate her first larva, help

Hey, at least the replied with in 6 months. It is still Camponotus americanus which is good, or you might have a problem with the USDA. If you were actually mad, you can report him to the USDA I think. Quite honestly, no one who does not have knowledge on shipping ants and permits should ship ants....

Re: I think my camponotus queen ate her first larva, help

I live in NJ and the package was shipped from Georgia. I know Georgia makes it kind of unlikely to be sansabeanus. Yeah I did try to contact GAN and here's what happened: >We gladly appreciate your feedback, comment and concern. We will look into it. The farmer's listing is still up. I feel betrayed...

Location rules out Camponotus sansabeanus, it is much more likely Camponotus americanus
Long story short, I got this ant from a GAN farmer in my state. When I got the package it came from a far away state.
