Re: Questions and Feedback on Care of Tapinoma sessile Colony
There is no reason for them to keep aphids that can’t produce honeydew(They need living stems) Vaseline is crap. Use fluon for small ants like Tapinoma. Baby powder won’t work as well due to their size and weight compared to the baby particles. Some later formicaria I would suggest are acrylic nest...

Re: Questions and Feedback on Care of Tapinoma sessile Colony
Hello, I have a colony of Tapinoma sessile. I acquired the colony from an existing colony, which had at least a dozen queens and probably at least a thousand workers. I collected two queens and around 30 workers. It has now been around 6 weeks since I acquired them, and they have been doing well. I...

Re: Help: Southern Alberta Camponotus schedule?
Thanks for the replies but I think you both missed the assignment, being from Iowa and Florida. I was hoping other Southern Albertans would be able to narrow down the window. I know it's not a science but narrowing it down any is helpful. There are people in the GAN around Calgary but none have que...

Re: Feed Queen?
Hello everybody! In April I caught a Fire ant queen. She laid eggs a few weeks ago and has a pretty decent brood pile. I believe she may be eating her larvae as there has only been eggs for a while now. Should I feed her a drop of honey and risk her eating or brood or should I leave her be for a fe...

Re: My queen ant journal
From this angle she looks like Crematogaster . She is a subfamily Myrmicinae ant for sure tho and I can also confirm she is fully-cluastral. Upvote on this. Yeah i guess so. I don't think semi claustral would lay an egg batch so soon after getting caught without food. I did actually start thinking ...

Re: Vote for best nest
First let me clear some things up All nest have their moments with certain species where they suck or work really well. It really depends on what you’re containing Overall ytong and acrylic both suck. There are a few species they work well for, but generally suck. Ytong can’t mold moisture and acry...
