Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it is of the Formica Rufa group (a social paracite), if it is you're going to need some larvae or callow workers of its host species to be able to raise it.

Ant possibly queen found in Calgary, Alberta

Hey guys I went on a walk today and found a plethora of these guys everywhere I'm not exactly sure if they're queens since they're only around 5 mm long. Anyways thanks for all the help! :)

Yup! A Formica social parasite, probably from the rufa group. She will need Formica pupae if you want to keep her. Thanks so much! Queen ant from Canada, Alberta

Hey guys I recently caught another queen ant a few days ago! I was hoping you guys would help me identify it. The ant is about 7mm long and has a darkish red upper half. Identification Help, Calgary Alberta
