Re: After my queen has her first workers, can she be disturbed more?

I generally prefer to leave her alone until she has more than 6 workers just to be safe.

Re: ants bringing eggs back to the old nest

I just pulled the cotton (their nest) out of the test tube and pulled at the mould a little and they all moved to the new test tube. It's been a day and a few of them are still there hanging around, probably trying to find anything they could bring to the new nest

I accidentally made alcohol from sugar water

So I filled a test tube with sugar water with a cotton wool to provide a supply of sugar to my ants. A few weeks later I found that the test tube reeked of alcohol and it leaked out of the cotton wool for some reason even though I made sure the surface was somewhat dry and some of my ants drowned. D...

If it gets too big you could always release them or put them up on the GAN project
It is irresponsible to release invasive species.
I don't think it's a problem if the queen was caught in the same area.

Weird ant behavior

There was a Pheidole worker wandering around the set up pausing frequently to look up and she kinda look out of sorts. Another worker from the same colony interacted with her for awhile. All of a sudden, she just grabbed her with her mandibles and dragged the abnormal worker back to the colony. Coul...

Re: ant population control

You could reduce the food slowly to give your ants enough time to adapt so they won't have too many deaths.
