Re: My queen ant journal

6 November 2023 Decided to randomly revive my presence just for this moment of time. Now i only have one colony which should be in hibernation but the temperature here is still rather warm so i think they are a little active. Remember ages ago when i had the "should i become a teacher or an engineer...

Re: Hybernation preparation

You just gotta wait for the right opportunity when all the workers are in the nest and quickly remove the outworld. Also, as the temperature goes down, the ants will automatically venture less and stay in the nest so it will be easier remove them. But dont do what you said later in the post because ...

Re: Help with pheidole

If you fed them something recently, they wont eat again. They would also not eat the same food over and over again. Try feeding them something different. I give mine foods like boiled eggs or cooked meat or termites. you can also feed them these things and see if they eat.

Re: Clay all in one?

I found some article (wikiHow) saying that I can replace Plaster of Paris with 'a mixture of flour and water' or 'a mixture of water and white glue'. I have no flour right now but maybe I can try it out. Can some of you try it out to make a nest? I can't find any flour right now. If you do do the '...

Re: How do you feed small colonies?? Please help!

Also where i live, every time it rains there are alot of termite alates so i catch them and freeze them so whenever i wan...

They can eat almost anything but you wont see their gasters get too big just yet. Just keep feeding them food once every week and they will grow

Re: Another! My queen ant journal

Upon further investigation it seems there was some sort of white mold which spread on the glass of the tt and possibly could be the reason of their death. I released the 5 workers who were still alive. There was some brood but it's not worth saving as it could also be infected and dead. Guess it's t...
