Thanks but I believe it was actually Aphaenogaster tennesseensis.

Army ants in Tennessee?

I found this big group of ants moving into a tree in my yard and when I captured one to see what it was I couldn’t tell. After doing some research it looks like Neivamyrmex nigrescens but I don’t know. https://photos.google.com/?pli=1.jpg
