They should lay eggs soon. Keep them in the dark for a week or two. That's how long it took for my Crematogaster to lay eggs after diapause.

I cannot tell.. I know on another forum somebody found a queen that looked like that and it survived. Put it in a test tube and see if it moves. If it doesn't in the next few days, it's dead.
