Re: Moving colonies help!

I don't know much about feeding them, but what I have heard is 1: feed small defenseless food at first, and 2: try a variety to figure out what they like best. After all, an ant with a variety in its food is more healthy than one without.

Re: Mold trouble... Please Help!!!

My suggestion is to leave her to her own devices, in other words: she will move the brood as she sees fit. I had a similar experience and she and her nanitics were fine, I eventually attached a test tube to hers and she didn't move in right away. It took her another day inside it to move. But DO NOT...

And I forgot to replace the cap with cotton and I realized this at school so I was incredibly nervous. I texted my mom with no response, and then i got to 3rd period and my nice teacher l...

Queen ID and 2 workers needing an ID

Ok so my first "queen" of the season was really a male. Anyway I finally got my first actual queen of my antkeeping hunting season. She is 100% a Solenopsis species but I'm not sure if she is a RIFA or a southern fire ant or some other species. Here's the link to imgur... http://imgur.com/a/u31cY Sh...
