Re: Is this a queen ant?

Nice job. It is a queen, but you will have to wait for Batspiderfish and others to identify what species it is.

Re: MOLD CRISIS!

I don't understand... How come you can't reach it? Just take it out...

Or, if your colony is in their outworld (naturalistic setup) then just don't water that spot, as moisture helps mold.

Re: Plaster and Paris Formicarium- How do i give water?

Yes, I think plaster soaks up water.

But if in wrong, then just turn a few of the chambers in to hydration ones, by filling them with cotton and being able to water them through a hole.

Just make sure that the cotton is tight enough that the and can't escape.

Re: Which hybrid nest for iridomyrmex

Hmm, what makes you think that?? Iridomyrmex usually like small spaces, not the spacious ones like Myrmica.

Solenopsis or Pogo might be okay, yes.

Re: Please ID my queen ants

I know it is a Lasius queen, but I'm not sure what species. I would think Flavus if they are found over there.

Re: Not Pheidole right?

Pheidole bicarinata and Pheidole pilifera are both native to Wisconsin. One of the important details about Pheidole is that they are not polymorphic; they are dimorphic -- there are minor workers, distinct major workers, and nothing in between. These just look like slightly larger workers, compared...
