I happened upon a Camponotus Queen in my kitchen sink and decided to see if I could found a colony with her. Well she had about 6 baby ants, which all died :(. There was no mold and still a little drop of water behind the cotton, but I suspect maybe it had dried out before I decided to offer them a new test tube. Ok Good stuff, I will leave her in and I pushed her back in my cabinet so when I check all I will see is the water level and she won't know I'm looking. But since the tubes are so small and I read that camponotus eggs can take months to hatch, she may run out of water again before her workers arrive...
