I would say you can build a formicarium for them as long as you make sure to use a silicone to seal the sides and connection spots as well as use a nice barrier of alcohol and talcum powder around the top edge of your outworld.

Temnothorax colonies tend to stay small like a couple hundred strong, in the wild at least.

I had joined the skype group and it started well until more ppl joined and there was no control and everyone wants to run it wich I impossible.thru skype anyhow. I'm kind of nervous bout moving to another group.

To be honest I think this is one of the easiest and well organized forums. I like the others but find it difficult to find flight sightings in my area as the other forum has all sightings in one thread.

If you can take some pics and see if you can post a size in mm. Only really small black ants that ik or are monomorium I believe, but I'm pretty inexperienced and this is just a shot in the dark :P

I feel that considering many of us here are hobbyist you can think of our ant colonies as pets even if we are keeping them for observation. I hope to go back to school for biology and it does help to study ants but they are still pets not an object of scientific study. That being said I believe with...

Pretty sure AntsCanada store has packs of 5 test tubes for like $16 I've never bought anything alike, but I believe it’s expensive to have 5 small tubes for 33.48$.
