For e.g. Camp. Ligniperda is 5mm fine, but we are talking about hole. If it is longer tube I would recommend at least 6mm as Batspiderfish said:)

Hello, I have to say that I prefere cork - just because it's more natural It can mold very easily, but I think that the ants are able to solve it themselves, especially if the colony is bigger...

I keep Camponotus in a cork nest and I think it is the best option for them They are able to dig and the humidity is easy to maintain at certain level. Smaller - no digging species can't dig, but it is a good compromise between soil and plastic anyway
