Formica sp. in the rufa group. They will need Formica (fusca group) pupae to survive.

The first one is Monomorium or Solenopsis from what I can see. I guess Monomorium.
The second one is a Messor sp.

I agree with Ants4fun. Linepithema humile .
Probably the most common ant in urban SoCal.
