really? the queens just die? Then are they alates or maybe a less fertile/productive queen in a polygenous colony?

it depends on the species but most ants flight at the right time of year and go by daylight(like flying at night)
after that it depends in humidity temperature and a pheromone that goes in the air

Those are the Factors that we think trigger flights

i look at my prenolepis colony outside and i saw not much worker activity is that sign of a upcoming flight?

she is still alive but all the brood she has left is 3 eggs and 4 small larvae. I gave her some honey and some soaked dead mealworm

did you add a barrier the workers may be bad at climbing but still it never hurts to put it on. i suggest just talc powder or baby powder and get cotton and brush it on (no alcohol)

also have you considered putting this in the journal section of the forums?
