ok so a lot has happened (kind of) so a week or so ago i found that the new colony's queen had died so i released them. as for the old colony they are doing great!! they have no deaths and i also upgraded their set up with a plastic box and potting soil. all of their host brood is pupae now and hopi...

really it is impossible to tell if a queen is fertilized until workers hatch from her eggs

it's a good guess but there is only one petidole node and it is in a spiked shape so it is in the family Formicae

i always think when my queens die that they have a 1/1000 chance outside. when we catch then they have like a 1/7 chance to live a long life
