I live in upstate NY and i'm currently just increasing my knowledge on local species that live near me and in my backyard. I've been reading quite a bit on how to ID the ants.
This species was found out forging on the side of a tree by itself no other ants around. Ive noticed that each time i see this species it's usually out roaming by herself.
Anyone please confirm its ID as camponotus.

They are pretty robust ants and can forage some distance form their nest, which is usually much more populous and obvious.
